On September 20th, 2023, Fulbright University Vietnam and Christina Noble Children’s Foundation (CNCF) signed an MOU to award seven students of the Class of 2027 with scholarships towards their college living costs. A generous total of 840,000,000 VND was made possible thanks to the kindness and dedication of Christina Noble Children’s Foundation.
Following the success of last year’s program in assisting promising scholars with their college expenses, the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation and Fulbright University Vietnam decided to further their collaboration. Accordingly, an MOU of a gift valued at 840,000,000 VND was signed to extend the scope of Christina Noble – Fulbright Scholarship.
The scholarship awards signing ceremony was presided over by Dr. Scott Fritzen – President of Fulbright University VietNam, Ms. Helenita Noble – CEO of CNCF Global, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nha – CEO of CNCF Vietnam, and joined by distinguished guests together with Fulbright scholarship recipients.
Ms. Helenita Noble – CEO of the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation and daughter to the CNCF’s founder, Mdm. Christina Noble, made an emotional speech to emphasize the importance of supporting students throughout higher education:
“Our organization’s objectives align with Fulbright’s. We wish to ensure that we are fully committed to enriching the educational experience for students – and their families too. This expansion of the scholarship scheme is our promise to Fulbright and to the students we are proud to support today. And we hope – there will be many more like this to come, as our collaboration continues to grow.”
Each of the seven scholarship recipients will receive a financial aid package of 120,000,000 VND. This amount would help provide expenses for food and meals throughout four years at Fulbright University Vietnam. In addition, the scholarship recipients will have opportunities to participate in meaningful activities with CNCF, including UK Consulate events, Charity Run Children’s Walk For Hope, and summer camps.
In recognition of CNCF’s commitment to supporting students with a long-term vision, Fulbright President Scott Fritzen quoted President Ho Chi Minh: “Vì lợi ích mười năm trồng cây, vì lợi ích trăm năm trồng người” (For the sake of ten years, we plant trees, for the sake of a hundred years, we nurture people) to emphasize the importance of collaborations in the cultivation of future generations through education.
The Christina Noble – Fulbright MOU signing ceremony inspired a compassionate approach to education. Let us hope that this beautiful collaboration shall be continued for many more generations of students to come.
