She completed her PhD in 2022 titled “An Existential Inquiry into Vietnamese Women’s Life-Stories: On Becoming a Leader”. Her thesis was nominated for the Chancellor’s Prize for Research Excellence. The nomination cited Dr Nguyen’s significant contribution to the development of an indigenous Vietnamese women’s psychology and the science of psychology more broadly in its ongoing efforts to shift toward a greater sensitivity to issues of cultural diversity and gender.

Lan’s research has been published in several prestigious international journals, including Applied Psychology: An International Review and the Journal of Humanistic Psychology.

Prior to pursuing an academic career, Lan was employed in multi-national and start-up organizations.
