Dr. Minh-Quan Nguyen completed his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2011. Before then, he received the B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City. He is currently working as a tenured Senior Lecturer at the International University of Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City.

Dr. Nguyen’s research interests are in scientific computing, nonlinear waves, probability, and statistics. His main research aims to understand the effect of nonlinear processes and randomness on solitons in optical waveguide devices. Dr. Nguyen, as the principal investigator, has been received three research grants from the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED) since 2013.

Dr. Nguyen has been a visiting professor at a variety of institutions such as the University of Minnesota, Taiwan National Center for Theoretical Science, National Tsing-Hua University, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, VIASM, RMIT Vietnam. Dr. Nguyen is joining Fulbright as an Adjunct Faculty Member in Mathematics in Spring 2021.
