Today’s computers are more powerful than any time ever in the history of mankind. Crunching numbers appears to have no limitations using these powerful machines built on using classical computing technologies. However, in spite of this mind-boggling power of computing there are still some intractable calculations and problems, that cannot be solved using the most advanced compute power of today. Our most advanced super computers seem unable to withstand the needs of our digital society generating enormous quantities of data every second of the day globally. Computers using the principles of quantum physics, offers some promise to solve problems hard for conventional computers. This session will review the concepts of quantum computing, its current state and future promise, as well as some potential applications in financial and healthcare industry.
About the speaker:
Dr. Murthy Rallapalli is a dedicated educator with an extensive industry and teaching experience of over 25 years. He is currently visiting Fulbright University Vietnam as a Fulbright Scholar, in the area of Cyber Security and Machine Learning. Dr. Rallapalli has over two decades of experience with companies like IBM, Ernst & Young and Kyndryl corp. in technical executive role, with strong domain expertise in area of Banking industry regulatory controls and compliance. He is specialized in innovative business solutions in the area of Security, Privacy, Mobile, and Proximity based Cloud solutions. His domain expertise is in Quantum computing, Cloud Security and Data privacy technologies in Financial and Banking Industry. With rich experience in both the industry as well as in the teaching profession, Dr. Rallapalli is adept in creating powerful curriculum focused on hands-on experience relevant to the industry in the fields of cyber security, data science, database programming, system engineering and data privacy. He authored several books and holds many patents in the area of security and privacy. Dr. Rallapalli, holds a Ph.D. from Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey and Cyber Policy Program certificate from Harvard University.
