On Saturday, June 8, 2024, Fulbright University Vietnam will hold the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2024.

This ceremony will be a joyous occasion to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our graduating seniors. They have learned to be resilient, and to grow and thrive amid adversity. We call them Class of the Fearless.

For graduating students

  • Registration and Tickets

    Two (02) tickets for guests will be issued to each graduating senior on June 3, 2024, at Classroom 4&5, from 10 AM – 04:00 PM. Tickets can be retained for parents/guardians/family members/friends; sale or external distribution is prohibited.

  • Regalia

    Caps and gowns will be worn by degree candidates and faculty members in the academic procession. The bachelor’s gown is Fulbright blue with yellow satin lining along the gown’s light-blue lapels and square collar. The bachelor’s cap is Fulbright blue with a light blue tassel.

    Students will also wear commencement sashes on top of their gowns with distinctive colors to indicate the areas of study to which their majors belong:

    • Red – Arts & Humanities
    • Green – Mathematics & Computing
    • Purple – Social Sciences
    • Gray –  Sciences & Engineering

    Degree candidates who receive honors upon graduation also wear a gold sash.

    Faculty members, speakers and members of the choir wear a light blue sash.

    During Senior Week, on June 3 at Classroom 4&5 from 10:00 AM – 04:00 PM, students will receive their regalia.

    A cap decoration session will be held for students to customize their own cap during the Senior Week.

    After the Commencement Ceremony, students can bring home their sashes and caps as keepsakes to commemorate their hard-earned graduation at Fulbright.

  • Procession

    As part of the commencement ceremony, graduating students and faculty members will participate in a procession from Fulbright University Vietnam campus to the Commencement Ceremony venue, SSMC. The procession marks the beginning of the ceremony and serves as a symbolic representation of the graduates’ achievements.

    The ensemble of degree candidates and faculty will be accompanied by a processional band.

    Please note that the walk is 1.4km long. For maximum enjoyment of the procession, it’s advisable to wear comfortable footwear.

  • Degrees and Awards

    The undergraduate program at Fulbright University Vietnam offers three degrees:

    Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

    • Art and Media Studies
    • Economics

    • Psychology
    • Social Studies
    • Vietnam Studies

    Bachelor of Science (B.S.)

    • Natural Science: Integrated Sciences
    • Mathematics and Computing: Computer Science and Applied Mathematics

    Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.)

    Graduation with Honors and Graduation with Distinction are conferred to recognize students’ academic achievements.

    Graduation with Honors requirements:

    • Students must complete Capstone I and Capstone II
    • The capstone must be graded Honors

    Graduation with Distinction requirements:

    • Cum Laude: GPA top 20%
    • Magna Cum Laude: GPA top 10%
    • Summa Cum Laude: GPA top 5%

  • Transportation

    Arriving at the Saigon South Marina Club – SSMC

    The Commencement Ceremony will take place indoor at the Saigon South Marina Club – SSMC, Ballroom, Level 1.

    Parking guideline

    • Car: Tran Van Tra street (see parking map). Please arrive on time for available parking spots.
    • Motorbike: Park inside Saigon South Marina Club parking lot. For detailed instruction, please seek help from security guards upon arrival.

    Shuttles

    After the Ceremony concludes, shuttles will provide transportation from Saigon South Marina Club (SSMC) to Fulbright University Vietnam campus for students and guests. The shuttles operate from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM.

  • Check-in

    Family and guests check-in from 7:30 AM to 8:10 AM at the Saigon South Marina Club (SSMC) for proper seating in the Ballroom, Level 1 (see map).

Accessibility

The Commencement day will be fully live-streamed on YouTube and Facebook.

Access to videos and photos will be sent to graduating students’ email within 7 working days after the ceremony.

  • Wheelchair

    Both Fulbright campus and Saigon South Marina Club (SSMC) have wheelchair-friendly facilities passengers with special needs. If you need any support, please speak with the security at the entrances upon arriving.

  • Translation

    The event will be conducted mainly in English. Simultaneous translation from English to Vietnamese will be available at the venue. Headsets for Vietnamese translation will be placed on the seats.

    The by-invitation-only livestream is available in both languages.
