On 12th March 2019, Dr. Huynh The Du and Nguyen Xuan Thanh, lecturers of Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management, attended Annual Vietnam Economy Conference 2019 organized by VnEconomy. The theme of this year conference was “Breaking Through From Growth Drivers”
The 2019 Conference focused on discussing core economic drivers of Vietnam in 2019 and upcoming years. Representatives from government agencies, private sectors, research institutes and universities confered on crucial policies leveraging economic growth.
Lecturer Nguyen Xuan Thanh moderated the panel session “Sustainable management of financial markets – Driving economic growth”. Some remarkable issues raised during the panel discussion include management transparency, credit limit, increased capital for commercial banks and impacts from international and national development policies.
Continuing the conference, Dr. Huynh The Du delivered a presentation on “Private Sector as a Driving Force for 2019” in which private sector is asserted to be among primary forces fueling domestic economic growth. On the other hand, the audience were warned of negative sides of private sector, such as its excessive growth, lobbyists and interest groups.
