Fulbright’s Moral Leadership Speaker Series will be back in December 29th. Our next speaker of the series will be Chris Matthews, an American political commentator, an author and the host of MSNBC’s Hardball.

This talk is themed “How social media has transformed mainstream media, and what we should expect for Vietnam”.

The effect of social media in regards to promoting debates and discussions has been contested both in public and among scholars. Like any other tool, social media brings both good and harm; yet, it is still a very powerful communication tool, which can aid in creating changes. Especially for such a developing country as Vietnam, mainstream media and social media cannot function without each other. The question to ask ourselves, then, is how to use both communication tools in a more effective and ethical way; and Chris Matthews will share his own thoughts on this topic.

The talk will be held in English and Vietnamese. The details of the talk are as followings:

Date and time: 9:30 – 11:00 AM, on Sunday, 29 December 2019.
Address: Fulbright University Vietnam, 105 Ton Dat Tien, Tan Phu Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
