In this talk, world-famous political commentator Chris Matthews will talk about leadership in crisis – and what we’ve learned from the response to coronavirus. In particular, Matthews will analyze how American leaders such as President Trump and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo have responded. Despite Governor Cuomo leading the state with the highest number of casualties, he is now considered an American hero. Why do people respect the leader with the heaviest losses? What has he done right and what can all leaders learn from his example?

Chris Matthews is an internationally recognized political commentator, journalist, and public figure. He previously hosted Hardball with Chris Matthews, which aired on MSNBC for over 20 years. Chris also authored multiple books on politics and leadership, including books on President Kennedy and President Nixon. Matthews has been an expert on leadership in crisis covering leadership in modern times – such as during the 9/11 bombings in the United States – and leadership in history – such as President Kennedy during the cold war.

This talk will involve a public speech by Chris Matthews on leadership in the COVID-19 crisis. After the speech, there will be a public Q&A where interested individuals can ask questions about leadership, the U.S. election, and the future.
