The purpose of this course is to provide students Majoring in Psychology with a supervised,
professional level service and work experience. Students undertake an intentional and structured
experiential learning experience in a way that mutually benefits the student-intern and the agency
or placement site. Students apply, from their academic knowledge in the classroom, foundational
knowledge and skills gleaned from the psychology program that they can contribute to the work
setting. In partnership with the university, the placement sites provide students with a list of
expectations, duties, and performance goals, along with consistent supervision with feedback
about their performance.
