Introduction

What is ethics? And why should we care about it? Simply defined, ethics can be understood as a system of moral principles. As stated by Aristotle in his Nicomachean Ethics, We are not concerned to know what goodness is but how to become good [people], since otherwise our inquiry would be useless. This course introduces students to key texts and concepts in the study of ethics and moral philosophy. Students will connect theoretical approaches to the study of morality to one another, and to their own lives.
