Bring your ideas to life at Fulbright’s Makerspace Bootcamp

Fulbright University Vietnam’s Makerspace Bootcamp is a full-tuition scholarship training program open for 20 motivated and innovative high school students across Vietnam.

It does not matter if you are a “Makerspace novice” or an experienced maker. Joining this 1.5-day bootcamp, you will be working with peer mentors and experienced experts from Fulbright University Vietnam to learn new skills and master your existing skills in a conducive and supportive environment. Come with your ideas and our student Makerspace mentors will help you bring them to life!

By participating in Fulbright’s Makerspace Bootcamp, students will have the opportunity to learn the whole process of product development from computer-aided design, to workshop activities, creating and assembling components and parts, and finally complete your final product. The curriculum will enable students to:

  • Be creative and apply design strategies to develop your ideas, methods, or products.
  • Learn and/or utilize new tools and resources to reach a solution.
  • Experiment, test, evaluate and modify your own ideas.
  • Critically think and effectively solve problems.
  • Acquire invaluable skills such as time management, collaboration, adaptability, effective communication, and more.

Fulbright’s Makespace advisors will also select 2-3 committed students to continue working with us in several running projects in 2021. This internship result will be announced within one week after the Makerspace Bootcamp is completed. Apply now to participate in this exciting experience!

  • Application period: 28 June – 18 July, 2021

  • Makerspace bootcamp: 14-15 August, 2021

How to Apply:

Fulbright’s Makerspace Bootcamp is looking for 20 talented and highly motivated high school students who are interested in designing and creating new products. To apply, students need to fill out this application form by 18 July, 2021.

Cost:

This Makerspace Bootcamp is a tuition-free training program for highly motivated students. However, selected students are required to take care of their own transportation and accommodations during their stay in Ho Chi Minh City. Lunch will be provided by the University.

Our mission is to foster new generations of creative thinkers and problem solvers by providing all Fulbright students, regardless of prior experience, with the technology and equipment to explore their inventive ideas and creative workflow. As of today, Fulbright’s Makerspace is well-equipped with 3D printers and scanners, hot wire foam cutters, soldering irons, smoke filters, oscilloscopes, etc.
