Hong-An Nguyen is the Head of Psychology Department at Hoa Sen University, Vietnam. He has finished his MSc in Psychology at Massey University (New Zealand) under the New Zealand ASEAN Scholarship programme. His main focus is on Vietnamese’s concept of wellbeing and applications of psychotherapy on different groups. He is particularly interested in cognitive-behavioural approach and existential psychology.
As a cousellor, he believes that through scientific methods and professonalism, psychology can create changes in society and improve people’s life. In recent years, he took part in several local community projects and worked with different groups such as students, older people, abuse survivors, … in various settings like hospitals, schools, and NGOs.
Easy going and enthusiastic about psychology, Hong-An always loves to discuss new ideas and support students to pursuit their passion in helping professions. He is also interested in philosophy, history, movie and traveling.
