Profile:
Khuong Truong is an applied labour economist specializing in social policies and inequalities related to gender, housing, immigration, education and skills. Khuong has a keen interest in exploring and applying various econometric techniques using cross-section, panel, and administrative datasets to understand a variety of socioeconomic issues better and help inform policy makers on these issues. His research contributes to address SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). He holds a PhD in Economics from McMaster University, an MA in Economics, and a BSc (Joint Honours) in Science and Economics, both from the University of Waterloo. Khuong will continue to explore how policy interventions shape socioeconomic inequality in Vietnam, alongside comparative work on gender pay gaps and just energy transitions in Australia and Africa.
