On the afternoon of April 26, the Fulbright University Vietnam student community was filled with excitement at the return of Fulbright Career Day 2025 – the most anticipated annual event organized by the Career Services Office. Throughout the event, Fulbright students embarked on a memorable journey: confidently presenting their personal projects, directly connecting with employers, and participating in challenging yet rewarding interview sessions.

This year, Fulbright was honored to welcome representatives from over 43 leading domestic and international companies and corporations across various industries, including Biti’s, Chubb Life Vietnam, AB InBev, Zalo, Shopee, PwC Vietnam, Samsung, Techcombank, MoMo, Center for Biodiversity and Endangered Species Conservation, among others.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Scott Fritzen, President of Fulbright University Vietnam, delivered an inspiring message to students and corporate partners. Dr. Scott emphasized: “The liberal arts education at Fulbright provides a strong knowledge foundation for students to develop their careers in the 21st century. With interdisciplinary problem-solving abilities, soft skills, and adaptive mindsets, Fulbright students are not only ready to enter the workforce but are also equipped to drive positive societal change.” He also encouraged students to boldly showcase their talents, highlight their strengths, and seize the opportunities at Career Day to expand their career paths.

The event kicked off with the Student Showcase – an activity organized for the first time at Fulbright. Here, students’ research projects, entrepreneurial initiatives, and community service projects were exhibited and introduced to a wide array of corporate partners. The stories behind each project reflected not only the creativity and dedication of the students but also sparked lively discussions between young talents and industry experts.

Nguyen Phuc Thien Khoa, a first-year student, enthusiastically shared: “Presenting at the Career Day 2025 Showcase was a very special experience for me. Sharing my project on conserving the Mekong giant catfish and the giant pangasius – two critically endangered species of Vietnam’s Mekong River – with so many students, guests, and organizations was a great opportunity to practice my presentation skills, explain complex scientific ideas in an accessible and inspiring way, and connect with professionals in my field.”

Following the showcase, the Career Fair officially commenced, featuring the participation of numerous organizations and companies across various sectors including finance, technology, consulting, education, and sustainable development. Fulbright students made the most of this opportunity to exchange information, learn about different work environments, corporate cultures, and internship and job openings. Many students quickly impressed company representatives through their thorough preparation and professional demeanor.

“Career Day really helped me better understand today’s labor market. Through direct conversations, I learned what skills and qualifications companies are seeking, which will allow students like me to better prepare for our future career paths”, Thao My, a second-year student, reflected.

At the end of the day, selected students participated in Actual/Mock Interviews – real or simulated interview rounds with recruiters. This gave students the chance to test their interview skills, receive candid feedback, and learn how to better present themselves to employers in the future.

Ha Nhu Y, a third-year Social Sciences student, shared: “Normally, when applying for jobs, I would have to go through multiple rounds before even getting an interview. Career Day gave me the opportunity to meet directly with my favorite companies from the outset, allowing me to build confidence in a professional environment and gain deeper, practical insights into the recruitment process.”

Fulbright Career Day 2025 was more than just a career-oriented event – it was an opportunity for Fulbright students to better define and prepare for their professional journeys. Through every conversation and every handshake, career dreams were nurtured and new doors to the future were opened.
