Every Job an AI Job: Fulbright’s Push to Prepare Students for the Age of Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is no longer confined to labs or tech companies. From manufacturing to retail floors, AI is becoming a core part of how work gets done. Fulbright University Vietnam is focused on thought leadership that enables this shift.

AI Is Changing Knowledge Work and Jobs

Recent labor market data shows AI is already affecting hiring at the entry level, particularly in knowledge-based roles. As AI systems become better at tasks like analysis, research, and writing, graduates can no longer rely on subject knowledge. New skills are needed—skills that combine critical thinking, good judgement and AI fluency.

Rethinking Higher Education

To meet this challenge, Fulbright has launched the Center for Artificial Intelligence, supported by Google DeepMind. The center is advised by Le Viet Quoc, known for foundational work in deep learning at Google, and led by Le Quan, a KAIST graduate with industry experience in deploying AI at scale at Viettel.

“We don’t just teach students how to use AI—we teach them how to build with it, work alongside it, and think critically about its impact,” said Quan. “This is not just for computer science majors—AI is a foundational skill.”

The university is embedding AI into programs across majors. Courses focus on real-world collaboration between technical and non-technical students. Emphasis is placed on human-centered design, entrepreneurship, and iterative problem-solving using AI tools.

Bringing Global Opportunities to Vietnam

Fulbright’s approach is reinforced by its collaboration with industry. VireoX a U.S.-based pharmaceutical company that has grown from $100M to $400M in revenue in 2025 through acquisitions and AI deployment is eager to support Fulbright’s initiatives. Geoffrey See, Chief Digital Officer at VireoX and a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council, leads this transformation.

VireoX equips frontline workers with AI agents that support tasks such as purchasing, marketing, and operations—empowering store managers into decision-makers with enhanced capabilities. The mission of its team is to help unleash human and organization potential with AI.

Now building its core AI product team in Vietnam, VireoX supports Fulbright to understand how students can prepare for jobs where AI will be embedded in every function.

“We chose Vietnam because of the mix of entrepreneurial spirit and technical talent,” said See. “Our AI team includes data engineers, product managers, and business experts across diverse domains from manufacturing, finance, retail operations to marketing working together. It shows that every job increasingly involves AI.”

VireoX’s Vietnam-based team builds for its U.S. market, exposing talent here to one of the most competitive innovation environments. Geoffrey believes that working with global markets is the best way to develop world-class talent. This is especially true for AI where there is constant learning and experimenting at the frontiers of technology.

Looking Ahead

Fulbright’s goal is to ensure students are not just users of AI, but active contributors to how it is applied across industries. With its new AI Center and industry partnerships, the university is preparing graduates for a future where AI is part of nearly every profession—and where human skills like critical thinking, adaptability, and creativity are more important than ever.
