Biography:
Yeonjoo Son is a macroeconomist whose research focuses on urban and real estate economics, with particular emphasis on search frictions. He studies how housing search frictions, financial constraints, and households’ decisions interact to shape housing market dynamics, liquidity, and business cycle fluctuations. His work combines theoretical modeling with empirical evidence to better understand the role of housing in the broader economy.
In addition to his core research, he is interested in applying emerging tools such as artificial intelligence to real estate and empirical analysis. He also has an interest in behavioral economics, particularly in understanding social and economic interactions through the lens of economic theory. His earlier work includes research on the prisoner’s dilemma using evolutionary game theory.
