Assistant Professor in Chemistry

Field of interest:
- Statistical mechanics
- Soft matter
- Computational chemistry
Education:
- Ph.D. 2023, University of Virginia, USA
Bio:
Dr. Nhu Nguyen is a computational chemist specializing in statistical mechanics and advanced simulation techniques, including molecular dynamics (MD) and Monte Carlo (MC) simulations. She’s interested in using numerical simulations to model and analyze complex systems, with her past specific area of focus on studying the complex interplay between sequence formation and nascent oligomer phase behavior with potential implications for the design of sequence-controlled materials.
Nhu’s teaching goals are to create a welcoming and respectful environment where students, regardless of their chemistry background, can learn. She aimed to incorporate active learning, real-world examples, and scientific writing exercises to help students develop a skill set that not only enhances their success in class, but can also be beneficial in broader professional practice.
Courses:
- General Chemistry
- Introduction to Molecular Simulation
