Fulbright University Vietnam is pleased to announce that Mr. Henry Nguyen, Chairman of Phoenix Holdings and a member of Fulbright’s Board of Trustees, will be the Keynote Speaker at Convocation 2025.
Henry’s participation in this year’s Convocation offers a timely and authentic perspective on how to decode the complexities of modern business and define one’s own path in a world shaped by globalization and rapid technological change. Aligned with the 2025 theme “Decode and Define,” his story is expected to inspire Fulbright’s incoming students as they begin a new chapter of discovery, learning, and personal impact.
Henry Nguyen is the Chairman of Phoenix Holdings, an investment firm with businesses in technology, finance, retail, education, media, and sports. Its portfolio includes Bloomberg BusinessWeek and Nobu Hotels & Restaurants in Vietnam.
He is also the Master Franchisee for McDonald’s in Vietnam and Executive Chairman of Timo, Vietnam’s leading digital banking platform. Previously, Henry was Managing General Partner of IDG Ventures Vietnam, the country’s first venture capital firm.
He founded the Saigon Heat and the Vietnam Basketball Association (VBA) and currently serves as President of the Vietnam Basketball Federation and the Southeast Asia Basketball Association. He is the Founding Owner and Vice Chairman of Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), 2022 MLS Cup Champions.
Henry is the President of the Harvard Alumni Club of Vietnam. He is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum and the President of Advisory Board for Operation Smile Vietnam.
