On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of national reunification, Fulbright University Vietnam is proud to organize a meaningful series of activities centered around the feature film “Địa đạo: Mặt trời trong bóng tối” by acclaimed director Bùi Thạc Chuyên.
On April 14, the series kicked off with a talk hosted by the Vietnam Studies Center, titled “Reenacting History on Screen: The Journey of ‘Địa đạo’ by Director Bùi Thạc Chuyên.” During this event, Fulbright students had the unique opportunity to meet the director in person, engage in conversations, and listen to his behind-the-scenes reflections and heartfelt thoughts throughout the filmmaking journey of this historically significant movie.
Following the conversation, two film screening sessions were held exclusively for Fulbright students. These emotional and engaging viewings took students back in time through vivid and authentic footage—allowing them to grasp the brutal realities of war and the silent yet profound sacrifices made by earlier generations.
Through these activities, Fulbright students gain deeper knowledge and explore artistic approaches to portraying history, with the aim of fostering a love for learning and appreciating history, while promoting the nation’s cultural values to future generations.
