The University journey: When “young birds” leave the nest to step into the world

The university journey is a pivotal phase in the lives of young people, where they not only seek knowledge but also discover themselves and prepare for the future. In the technological era, characterized by a constant flow of information and cultural exchange, Gen Z stands out with their creative thinking, openness, and strong desire for self-expression.

The first ticket to stepping into the world lies in choosing a major and a university. This is a crucial yet challenging decision, as each field and institution offers different opportunities and challenges. Many young individuals feel uncertain, lacking the maturity and experience to clearly identify their strengths.

After selecting a major and university, the next challenge for students is to balance acquiring specialized knowledge with building essential skills for their careers. In a rapidly evolving labor market, students need not only deep expertise but also interdisciplinary thinking, critical thinking, and communication skills to adapt effectively.

According to a 2014 Gallup survey, students are more likely to achieve fulfillment if their universities prepare them well for life after graduation. This is precisely the goal that Fulbright University Vietnam strives toward: providing an environment that fosters holistic development in academics, critical thinking, practical skills, and physical and mental well-being for students.
