Business, Policy, and Society at Fulbright
Welcome to the Business, Policy, and Society (BPS) minor at Fulbright University Vietnam. Are you curious about how businesses operate within the complex web of societal expectations and government regulations? This minor offers you an interdisciplinary framework to understand these critical relationships that shape our world.
We designed this program to provide you with essential foundational knowledge for a successful career in today’s dynamic business environment. You’ll see how economic understanding must intertwine with legal, humanistic, and social-scientific perspectives.

The BPS minor emphasizes applying theory to practice. We equip you with the tools for critical thinking, clear communication, effective leadership, and sound decision-making. You’ll engage with ethical considerations, examining moral dilemmas in business and policymaking through philosophical, historical, legal, and social-scientific inquiry.
This preparation opens doors to diverse career paths in business leadership, public policy, corporate responsibility, human resources, green technology, consulting, and non-profit sectors, both here in Vietnam and internationally.

Regular Minor Requirements
To complete the Business, Policy, and Society minor, you must fulfill the following requirements:
- Complete all Core and Exploratory course requirements
- Complete Introduction to Business, Policy, and Society (4 credits)
- Complete either ECON101 or ECON103 (4credits)
- Complete four additional courses (16 credits) distributed as follows:
- At least two courses from the Business pillar.
- At least one course from the Policy pillar.
- At least one course from the Society pillar.
- Ensure at least two of these four additional courses are at the 300-level.

Foundational Courses
To begin this minor, students must complete two courses: Foundational Introduction Course and Foundational Business Courses (ECON 101 or ECON 103).
The Introduction to Business, Policy, and Society course introduces students to the three pillars of this minor. Students will gain familiarity with key concepts of the minor and will be able to analyze the relationships between business, policy and society with greater criticality and depth as well gain an introduction to sub-topics in these pillars, such business communication, marketing, business analytics, public policy, policy making, leadership and management as well sociology and ethics.
Either ECON 101 or ECON103 classes are foreseen as mandatory business focused courses that students need to complete in order to be eligible for the minor in BPS. This applies to all students who are currently enrolled in the minor or wish to do some in the next 2 academic year

Learning Outcomes
Upon completing the Business, Policy, and Society minor, students will be able to:
- Analyze and compare interdisciplinary concepts by demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the key theories and methodologies in business, public policy, and societal interactions, including economic principles, political structures and social dynamics.
- Evaluate information critically, applying analytical skills to assess scholarly perspectives and quantitative and qualitative data in the context of business, policy, and societal issues.
- Apply ethical reasoning to decision-making processes, demonstrating an understanding of personal and corporate responsibility to society in business and governance in a multicultural manner and understanding.
- Communicate effectively, articulating complex ideas in a clear and persuasive manner, both verbally and in writing, across diverse settings and lead and collaborate in team settings, through exhibiting strong leadership and teamwork abilities in a variety of organizational and multidisciplinary environments while refining public speaking skills.
- Create innovative and entrepreneurial strategies, identifying opportunities and developing novel solutions to evolving challenges in business, politics, and society.
