“I find the establishment of the Fulbright University Vietnam with its liberal arts education model an excellent opportunity to develop an innovative learning environment”.

Dr. Graeme Walker, a behavioral economist from Simon Fraser University in Canada, and Dr. Andrew Bellisari, a historian from Harvard University in the United States, have joined the Founding Faculty of Fulbright University Vietnam.

FUV’s Co-Design Year will begin this September. A portion of students will begin studies this summer in FUV’s Bridge Program — an English immersion program to receive additional English and university skills preparation before the official start of the Co-Design Year.

What I’m looking forward to most is this first group of students who will come to FUV to say this really exists as a school. That will be a thrilling experience. Then, just to be able to graduate classes and go to graduation ceremonies.

Late in my presidency at Wellesley College, I met an alum whose husband worked in Hong Kong who had been involved in this effort to create a new university in Vietnam.

Dr. Megan Bulloch has been appointed Chief Institutional Culture, Innovation, and Assessment Officer of Fulbright University Vietnam (FUV).

At FEL, I see the mission of young people and enthusiasm extremely admirable.

What makes Liberal Arts different is that it is not like training colleges in former Soviet or Vietnamese systems.

What excites me personally about the FUV project is to think that we are trying to design a campus and a school that will help the lives of thousands of young people, many of whom are not even born yet.

Both Dr. Nguyen Dang Minh and Phan Le Binh have experienced the value and spirit of the liberal arts, and they emphasize that that is the decisive factor of having an effective education.
