Kien is going to join Fulbright University’s faculty in mid-August 2020. He obtained his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from University of Texas at Austin in 2008 and 2012 and his B.S. degree in Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering from Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2002.
His research interests are at the intersection of applied math, signal processing, communication theory and wireless communication. He loves working with Vietnamese young generation and is passionate about innovating education systems in Vietnam. He also enjoys participating and interacting with industry and government through sponsored research, training and consulting.
He was co-recipient of the 2013 EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking Best Paper Award and the 2014 IEEE/KICS Journal of Communications and Networks Best Paper Award. He was a 2006 Vietnam Education Foundation Fellow. Kien is also Senior Member of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).
Before joining FUV, Kien was affiliated with Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology where he chaired the Department of Signal Processing and Communication Systems, Faculty of Electronics Engineering I and led the Wireless Systems and Application Laboratory.
