Thuy Bui holds her PhD in Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she worked in the Cognitive Science of Language Lab. As a psycholinguist, she uses a range of behavioral methodologies, statistical modeling techniques, and computational tools to investigate how humans use their grammatical knowledge to process and understand language.
Besides teaching, she maintains an active collaboration with the Computational Linguistics Center at the University of Science in Ho Chi Minh City. The goal of this collaboration is to enhance the applicability of artificial intelligence technology by improving the ability of computers to efficiently and accurately process language.
Before her graduate studies, Thuy completed her BA in English and Linguistics at the University of Minnesota, where she investigated syntactic and semantic variations across languages.
